We recently attended a product knowledge seminar February 26th on porcelain tile hosted by none other than Ceragres.Glen Brewer of Ceragres displayed a wealth of knowledge exposing the designer/architect audience to up and coming trends in the tile industry along with best practices designing and installing porcelain tile. Trending from overseas are intricately patterned tiles reminiscent of Byzantian and Turkish themes. Technology has come a long way over the last few years allowing porcelain tile manufacturers to apply patterns to the surface to porcelain with the aid of digital technology. Check this out:
We have really noticed the introduction of “wood looking” porcelain tiles. This is a great alternative to hardwood in the kitchen. All you out there wanting hardwood in the kitchen, here’s the answer; much more durable and easy to maintain …a dream come true.
Imagine, now you can have the look of wood flooring in the bathroom too!
How about mosaic tiles? They have also come a long way. Ceragres has brought in really exciting textures that would work wonders on a shower wall, kitchen backsplash:
Think about using a shape other than the typical square or rectangle on your floor. Hexagonal is in whether you introduce this shape in a powder room or backsplash, it adds whimsy (a little or a lot) wherever you use it.
